Was it Swift who said,
From “Reflections on a York River Oyster”
He was a bold man
that first ate an oyster?
I think it was a woman.
Who else could predict
the complexity
of fresh water meeting salt,
the burden
of filtering the bay,
the palate and price
of triggering desire,
and decide to swallow it all?
